AASFAA is led by members who volunteer to serve. Running for the board is a chance to get your voice, and your institution's voice, heard at the state level.

Elected Positions

President-Elect
A three-year commitment: President-Elect as a learning year, then President, then Past-President.

Vice President
A one-year commitment.

Secretary
A one-year commitment.

Treasurer-Elect
A two-year commitment: Treasurer-Elect as a learning year, then Treasurer.

Who Can Run?

All active members are eligible. We like to see every type of institution represented — public, private, for-profit, two-year, four-year, and graduate.

What Is the Time Commitment?

There are four quarterly board meetings per year, each running roughly 90 to 120 minutes. Some roles carry additional work: the President coordinates the meetings, the Secretary prepares minutes, and the Treasurer balances accounts and processes member payments. Board members also serve on committees, each with their own semi-regular meetings.
