AASFAA is pleased to offer two scholarship opportunities for members.  We encourage all members to apply as we want to support our members with professional development and networking opportunities.  

AASFAA Spring Conference Scholarship

The AASFAA Spring Conference held in Arizona and provides local financial aid administrators an opportunity to learn and connect with other institutions in our state. As a scholarship recipient, you will not be responsible for conference fees. More than one scholarship opportunity is available.

WASFAA Summer Institute Scholarship

AASFAA is pleased to offer a scholarship for members to attend the WASFAA Summer Institute.  The 2018 WASFAA Summer Institute will be held at the University of Nevada, Reno, Nevada.  This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with financial aid administrators from all over the Western region while earning valuable NASFAA credentials in areas of financial aid administration.  You can find more information about the event on the WASFAA website: www.wasfaa.org/docs/toc_summerinstitute.html

ROBERT THOMPSON MEMORIAL LEADERSHIP AWARD

The Robert Thompson Memorial Leadership Award was established by AASFAA in 1985 to honor our friend, colleague and mentor who passed away on January 18, 1985.  This award is given annually to a member who has best demonstrated the leadership qualities that typify the standards set down by Bob during his career. 

JOHN MEDLEY FINANCIAL AID ADVOCACY AWARD

The John Medley Financial Aid Advocacy Award was first established by AASFAA in 1991-92 as the Member of the Year Award.  In 1995-96 the name change to Financial Aid Advocacy Award and then again renamed in 1999-2000 after John Medley to honor our friend, colleague and mentor who passed away suddenly in December 1999. This award may be given annually to a member who has best demonstrated student advocacy and works to provide students with opportunities for education through the FA process and retains qualities that typify the standards set down by John during his career
