President’s Update:

Fall Drive Ins were a success!! The three locations saw over 100 attendees, with some individuals participating in in all three trainings.

WASFAA provided a one day professional development training in December which had approximately 35 registrations.

I’d like to give a big THANK YOU to Rosanna Short at Estrella Mountain College, Pat Peppin at Mesa Community College, Leslie Lloyd at Northern Arizona College andNorma Navarroat Pima Community College for hosting these trainings. Another big THANK YOU to the trainers themselves, who were credentialed in the topic and then volunteered their time and travel to train at our Fall Drive Ins: Julio Durazo, Joan Kraszewski, Bobbi Lehman, and Amanda Cornelius.  Thank you for helping further AASFAA’s mission of providing professional development and growth.

Our webinar with Bruce Honer in late September was also well attended and had good reviews. Bruce is our regions’ Federal Student Aid (FSA) trainer, and he provided an approximately 1.5 hour Federal Update discussing PPY FAFSA and other relevant topics.

We are excited to be able to offer a Spring Conference this year! Our theme will be “Getting to Know You” for as president this year I am very interested in getting a better gage of who we are, where we are and what our common challenges and opportunities we may have.
