Our goal this year has been to inform our membership regarding education
issues facing the State. Another goal was to provide a variety of sessions
appealing to the diversity of the members we serve.
AASFAA’s spring conference, Prospecting Arizona’s Educational
Frontiers, fulfilled these goals. The attendance at this conference was phenomenal
with well over two hundred and fifteen attendees. The AZ Golf Resort, where
the conference was held, was very conducive to our conference experience.
Overall, the evaluations rated the conference high or very high. The Conference
Committee will use the information to guide next year’s conference
planning.
Did I mention fun? This is a mandatory goal of the Conference Committee.
The AASFAA members always “step up” to a good party. This was
evident during the fall conference’s Toga Party. Remember our President
looking regal in her monopoly sheets and paper money crown? At the spring
conference the fun theme continued. Entertainment consisted of Native American
Dancers, our very own Gene Berg serenading us on his guitar, and a “Game
Show Extravaganza” which awoke the most competitive AASFAA spirit.
All in all, the year was productive and gave us the chance to come together
to learn, grow, and develop our network of financial aid colleagues.
