Membership Training Update
Greetings, AASFAA Friends!
The Membership Training Committee is pleased to share its latest and greatest
happenings.
Spring Workshop Series
The committee conducted its second series of Training Workshops this academic
year. Workshops were held at Northern Arizona University, GateWay Community
College, and Community Campus of Pima Community College during the first
part of March. In total, over 50 financial aid professionals from across
Arizona participated in the Workshops.
Christian Long of Universal Technical Institute shared her extensive knowledge
of the Return of Title IV Funds process with a session entitled “R2D2
or R2T4?” The session, which was geared toward financial aid professionals
with limited exposure to R2T4, included an overview and background information
as well as a hand calculation for practice.
Brad Honious of GateWay Community College held an entertaining yet meaningful
session on the subject of professional development. The session was called “Making
the Most of Who You Are and Where You Work.” Participants had open
discussions on various topics from time management to teamwork skills to
make time spent at work and the results of work more effective.
Based on feedback received from evaluations, the individuals who attended
were extremely pleased with the quality and the content of the Workshops.
In addition, the Membership Training Committee would like to extend a special
thanks to Katherine Pastor of NAU, Brad Honious of GateWay Community College,
and Edgardo Cornejo of Pima Community College for their hospitality and logistical
support at each of the Workshop sites.

Final Note
Thank you to everyone who supported Membership Training this
year! None of our work could have been made successful or even possible
without the
support of the Board; the commitment of individuals who volunteered as
trainers, site coordinators, and other support roles; and the interest
of everyone
who attended Membership Training events.
Joni Grover of Mesa Community College, Carmen Dominguez of College Loan
Corporation, and Keith Temple of EFSI – Education Funding Services,
Inc. will be next year’s Membership Training Committee Chairs. If you
are interested in volunteering on the Membership Training Committee, please
contact Joni, Carmen or Keith.
Best wishes,
